If you have not watched the video, watch it here. The video is shot by a pair who went undercover posing as representatives of an organization interested in buying the body parts of aborted babies. What they film is horrifying.
As Dr, Deborah Nucatola picks over her food at a busy restaurant, she nonchalantly describes the acquisition and sale of the bodies of aborted babies. Rather than using the possibly troubling terms of "body", "head", or "abdomen", she describes these parts using words like "specimen", "calvarium", and "thorax", thereby avoiding any possible indigestion. She describes how Planned Parenthood's abortion practices are shaped by this harvesting practice, from the day to day decisions of which abortions will take place based on the baby's term, to the positioning of the unborn in such a way as to leave the desired body parts undamaged. As for the legality of all this, Dr. Nucatola says that "...laws are up for interpretation, so if I say on day one I do not intend to do this, what ultimately happens does not matter."
As sickening as it all is, are we really surprised by it? Is it really that far of a jump for Planned Parenthood to go from getting paid to kill to getting paid for the corpses? America, it's about time we got real.
Planned Parenthood is only working out the logical consequences of their belief that abortions are morally acceptable, if not morally admirable, a belief formed on the basis that the unborn human is nothing more than a mass of tissue. Seeing as they have millions of these tissue masses lying around only to be thrown away, why wouldn't they turn those millions into millions in their pocket? If they have paid the unborn no dignity in life, why would they pay them dignity in death? That's a bad profit margin.
As a nation, we have been burying our head in the sand on abortion; we talk about it but we refuse to think about it. We have lauded human liberty at the cost of human dignity, thereby forfeiting the very grounds of our liberty.
The reality is that we cannot have both abortion and human dignity. For anyone to defend abortion but rebuke the sale of dead babies on the basis of human dignity is to admit pure delusion and irrationality. What is being sold is not human! In the eyes of Planned Parenthood, these tissue masses have no more inherent dignity than a piece of wood; why not sell dead babies?
Now is the time we must get real on abortion. We should have done so much sooner. Why are we horrified at the sale of dead babies? Why is it that something about it just seems wrong? Could it be that we that we believe they deserve some sort of dignity? Dignity in death? But if we are giving the unborn dignity in death, why are we showing them no dignity in life? Why do we act as though their dignity must succumb to the convenience of our own lives? Since when did we become the arbiters of human dignity?
Paying for dead babies does not seem nearly as heinous when you consider America has been paying to kill them. Maybe if we started getting real on what we've been doing, we'd be horrified at that too.
